Restriction-free Saver tickets on Virgin Trains
The Procurement Office has access to the Virgin Rail Travel Charity Line. When travelling with Virgin Trains, holders of valid University of Manchester ID documentation can use the popular discounted Saver tickets in both the morning and the peak periods free of the normal restrictions which apply to these tickets.
This reduces our traveling costs dramatically in the business peaks: for example, a Manchester - London standard class return with Virgin Rail costs £64.40 instead of £230. Please note there are no booking fees applicable on these tickets.
You can purchase tickets through Charity Line for travel with all train companies on the National Rail network, although the concession on Saver ticket availability is being offered exclusively for travel on Virgin Trains services.
