Bling Big Saturday at The Manchester Museum.

Explore a treasure trove of activities on 27 September.

Celebrate the Cultural Olympiad and help us light up the Museum with bling. Create your own treasure chest to take home, or go on a treasure hunt round the Museum. Bring in your own treasure and handle some of the Museums hidden treasures including butterflies, beetles, gemstones and ancient Egyptian jewellery.

  • 11am-4pm: Art and craft, object handling

  • 11-11.45am, 1-1.45pm & 3-3.45pm: Hidden gems of The Manchester Museum
    Join our Victorian gentleman guide, Mr Pye, for a tour.

  • 11am-3pm: Tokens and Commemorative Medals of Cheshire
    Book launch. Come along and get your old coins identified.

  • 11.30am & 2.30pm: Family Friendly Film Club Screening
    Visit Family Friendly Film Festival '08 for details.
     
  • 12noon & 2pm: Treasure hunt
    Go on a treasure hunt with storyteller Gina Perry. Follow clues hidden in the stories at each treasure to lead you to the next clue.  Every clue leads to a bigger treasure. Can you make it to the end to get your big prize?
