Wythenshawe Hospital opens its doors to the public.

09 Sep 2008

Come and join the fun at the Open Day on 28 September.

Whether you are thinking of a career in the NHS or you are just interested in going behind the scenes of one of the UK’s top NHS Trusts, don’t miss the annual Open Day at Wythenshawe Hospital on 28 September (11am to 4pm).

There will be an abundance of advice from our expert health professionals along with health MOTs including blood pressure and body mass index checks. As well as education there will be entertainment with music from the Ashton-on-Mersey Show Band and Manchester Grammar School Band. Younger visitors will be kept amused with the chance to look inside a fire engine and air ambulance along with face painters and clowns.

The Open Day will provide a unique opportunity to learn more about career opportunities at the Trust and get advice on how to be successful at interview. People will also be able to find out how they can get more involved with the Trust by becoming a member of the Foundation Trust.

To coincide with World Heart Day, visitors will have an exclusive behind the scenes tour of the brand new, state of the art North West Heart Centre. In addition, there will be tours of other fascinating areas of the hospital. See the real Holby City with demonstrations in our operating theatres, find out how computers have replaced x-rays and test out your lung capacity in our labs.

At 2pm there will be the chance to put your questions directly to the Chair and Chief Executive of the Trust and find out more about our performance and exciting plans for the future.

The day is completely free and open to all. It will be held in a marquee outside the Nightingale Centre and Genesis Prevention Centre on Southmoor Road.
