Well-Being Programme: Free workshops on Friday lunchtimes.

Opportunities to improve your health and general well-being.

This term the University Counselling Service offers the following workshops as part of the Well-Being Friday Forum lunchtime programme:

15 February - Introduction to Food and Mood

  • Can food really affect my mental health?
  • How does food affect mood?
  • What's the psychological relationship?
  • How do I find out if food is affecting my mental health?
  • What should I look for in my diet?
  • Which foods affect which moods?
  • Which foods do I need to eat in order to feel well?
  • How can I go about changing my diet?
  • Can I get help?

7 March - Managing Sleep Problems

  • Information and practical advice about how to manage sleep problems.

14 March - An Introduction to Managing Anxiety

This session is a practical and informative introduction to:

  • Identifying negative and self-defeating thought patterns: learning to think in a more balanced and realistic manner, how to influence our beliefs about ourselves.
  • Learning ways of preventing anxiety from becoming unmanageable
  • Looking at making a difference - what is within our control?
  • Learning to relax more and to engage in more pleasant events.
  • Thinking about the mind/body link.

These workshops take place from 1pm to 2.30pm and are held in the Well-Being Room, Dover Street Building, Dover Street.
