Celebrating women's achievements: Q&A session with Board of Governors Chair

As part of our continuing series of events to mark International Women's Day, our Board of Governors Chair Philippa Hird will be sharing her career journey and her aspirations for gender equity
Hosted by our Director of People and Organisational Development Adèle MacKinlay, join us on Tuesday, 21 March at 10:30am, Room 5.205 University Place for a discussion on themes such as career progression, leadership, raising awareness of discrimination, and the drive for gender parity.
There will be an opportunity to ask Philippa questions later in the session.

Philippa Hird Biography
Philippa was appointed as Chair of our Board of Governors in 2022, and she is an independent director with a particular interest in governance, people strategy, recruitment, remuneration and the delivery of complex change.
She is currently Senior Independent Director and Remuneration Committee Chair of Ordnance Survey, Chair of the NHS Pay Review Body and a Non-Executive Director of UK Strategic Command.
As Group Human Resources Director of ITV Plc until 2009, Philippa shaped the consolidation of the regional ITV companies. Prior to that, she held general management and then HR roles in Granada Group Plc.
She began her career in marketing with ICI and has an MA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Queen's College Oxford.
