InStitches knit sale raises £300 for the British Heart Foundation

14 Mar 2023

The craft group raised the funds from a sale of knitted items during BHF Heart Week in February

A cheque for £300 was presented to Phoebe Williams, who is the British Heart Foundation's Fundraising Manager for Greater Manchester West.

The funds were raised by our University's craft group, InStitches, which held a sale during BHF Heart Week in February. Group members donated handmade hats, scarves, toys, and jewellery for the sale.

They are now busy making things to replenish stock ready for the next sale, which is planned for the beginning of April – further information will be available soon. That includes an adult-sized alligator scarf, which was made in response to so many people admiring the child-sized version!

Thank you to everyone who has donated yarn, items for sale, or who visited the stall. Your support is much appreciated.

Would you like to join InStitches?

InStitches meets every Wednesday between noon and 2pm. The group alternates between online Zoom meetings and in-person meetings in Benugo Café, Simon Building.
