Free nutrition and health programme now open to all staff

Explore the principles of healthy eating through home study

We have secured a limited number of free places on a home-study programme aimed at improving your knowledge of diet, nutrition and health.

Course details

This course is designed for those who wish to develop their understanding of the principles of healthy eating and the role of food in maintaining good health.

There has never been such a wide range of food available to us. This course will provide the knowledge to make informed lifestyle choices in relation to diet.

The course content covers key issues including:

  • Exploring the principles of healthy eating
  • Diet and nutrition
  • Food and nutritional issues
  • Considering the nutritional needs of a variety of individuals and age groups
  • Food labeling
  • The use of food and nutritional information to plan a healthy diet.

It will provide information on how to achieve a healthy diet together with an understanding of how an individual's dietary requirements change through life.

How much does it cost and do I have to go to college?

This programme is free of charge.

You do not have to attend college at any time. You can do the programme at home, in your own time and at your own pace.
