Book now: our latest Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement session

06 Feb 2023

The session will cover our work on social inclusion, from our global programmes to our work with local apprentices

Social inclusion

Following our previous ‘Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement’ information sessions which have taken place over the past couple of months, we are now taking bookings for our third session, Social Inclusion, which will take place on 14 February at 12pm.

During the session you will:

  • Hear from one of our Zimbabwean Masters scholars on the Equity and Merit Scholarships Programme
  • Find out more about our Manchester Access Programme and the impact it has here in Manchester.
  • Explore our growing apprenticeship programme and find out what it is like to be an apprentice at our University.

The Social Inclusion session is part of a series of open sessions where you will be able to gain a greater understanding of social responsibility and civic engagement at our University, hear how our social responsibility and civic engagement strategy results in real actions and impact and see how we are making a difference regionally, nationally and internationally.

A further three sessions will take place over the coming months, each one focused on one of our strategic priorities:

  • Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement: Environmental sustainability (19 April)
  • Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement: Prosperous communities (14 June)
  • Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement: Cultural engagement (13 July)

Participants can attend as many or as few sessions as they wish.

You can also catch-up on our previous sessions:

Who should attend?

These sessions are aimed at all staff and students who are interested in how our University is making a positive difference to society and the environment through our Social Responsibility and Civic Engagement Plan. The content will be useful to anyone who wishes to find out more about the impact of our social responsibility activities, key people behind its delivery and our plans for the future.

Chaired by senior leaders, the sessions will be delivered by managers and beneficiaries of our programmes to provide real-life examples of our impact. There will be time for Q&As and feedback. Each session will last approximately 45 minutes.
