EDI Lunch and Learn session: Ways to inclusion

24 Aug 2022

Join our next lunchtime session on Monday, 12 September at 1pm

Inclusive Manchester

To mark the start of the new academic year and the forthcoming EDI strategy launch, we want to encourage all colleagues to take action on inclusivity. Each of us taking just one action, be it big or small, will make a collective difference.

What do we mean when we talk about inclusion in organisations? It’s about ensuring that each and every member of a community feels involved, supported and respected. An inclusive environment is one where everyone can flourish and grow and which appeals to and attracts the best talent. Creating inclusive environments, where people feel truly valued and able to bring their whole selves to work and study, is fundamental to enabling healthy, productive organisations and individuals.

How can we ensure that we have an Inclusive Manchester? Through each of us taking action. Creating an inclusive work and study environment is everyone’s responsibility.

Join our session ‘Ways to inclusion for the new academic year’ on Monday 12 September, 1pm-1.50pm. This is the latest in a series of Lunch and Learn sessions from the Directorate of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. In this session, hear ideas and examples on actions you could take to make our University a more inclusive place. Come with your own ideas and experiences to share and be ready to commit to your personal inclusivity action.

This session is open to all staff from any area or role and is a safe space to learn, share, reflect and contribute to our Inclusive Manchester.

The session will be held on Zoom. If you would like to join, please register via the Training Catalogue.
