Support for colleagues affected by the situation in Ukraine

Colleagues who are directly affected by the conflict are invited to an informal drop-in on Wednesday, 16 March

Support for colleagues affected by the situation in Ukraine

Dear colleagues

We have all watched with deep concern the conflict in Ukraine over the past three weeks.  Some of our colleagues have family and friends who are directly caught up in the conflict – I can only imagine how difficult and worrying a time this is for you.

If you, your family or friends are directly affected by the conflict, you are very welcome to attend an informal drop-in session on campus where you can meet and connect with other colleagues.

Whilst I hope that members of our Senior Leadership Team will be there, it will not be a formal event, just a welcoming space for you to share your experiences and concerns and hopefully find some comfort and support.

It’s taking place on Wednesday, 16 March at 2.30pm in Café 65 on the ground floor of the Alliance Manchester Business School (building number 29 on the campus map).  Coffee, tea and cake will be available and if you would like to attend please email people-od@manchester.ac.uk before 12 noon on Monday, 14 March.

If you’re unable to come along, please remember that we are here to support you, at all times. You can access a range of support and services through the staff wellbeing section of StaffNet, including 24/7 access to counselling and support through our employee assistance programme, Validium.

We have also just launched a new part of our University website as a hub for information and support which you might find useful:

With very best wishes,

Adèle MacKinlay

Director of People and Organisational Development
