04 Feb 2022

Following a successful public trial last year, the latest promotional event will be held at MediaCity in Salford on Tuesday, 8 February

Bee Network cycles

Transport for Greater Manchester, working in partnership with Manchester City Council, Salford City Council and Trafford Council, launched a public trial of Greater Manchester’s first publicly operated, self-service, 24/7 cycle hire programme in November 2021.

With commuters and students returning to the office and campus following the relaxation of Covid-19 Plan B measures, TfGM is keen to encourage people to choose more sustainable travel options where they can which will help contribute towards the wider goals of decarbonisation and tackling climate change.

TfGM and cycle operator Beryl will be hosting another cycle hire promotional event from 11am - 5pmon Tuesday, 8 February at the Media City cycle hire station, which is located next to the Media City Metrolink Stop in Salford. Staff will be on hand to explain how the bikes work, answer any questions, and giveaway promotional merchandise and discounts.

On 8 and 9 February new users will receive a free 15-minute ride, plus free unlock, whether they access a bike from the Media City cycle hire stations or at any of the other cycle hire stations along Oxford Road, near Piccadilly Station, or at the University of Salford campus. The discount will be automatically applied at the end of the ride. More information can be found in the promotions tab on the Beryl app
