Volunteering and Social Justice Week 2021

07 Oct 2021

A great opportunity for students to find out more about volunteering

Volunteering and Social Justice Week

The fair is back and better than ever! Next week, our Volunteering Team is extending their annual fair to a week-long celebration with Volunteering and Social Justice Week (Monday, 11 October – Friday, 15 October).

The Volunteering and Social Justice Week blended programme will give students the unique chance to chat with over 100 volunteering organisations through a mixture of online talks, panel sessions and an in-person fair.

The annual Volunteering and Social Justice Fair (12 & 13 October, 11am-3pm) is set to be one of the highlights of the week and is being hosted at Whitworth Hall. This highly anticipated two-day fair will give new and returning students the opportunity to meet a diverse range of charities and not-for-profit organisations from a wide range of sectors including cultural, environmental, health, sport and social inclusion sectors.

The organisations attending are from the wider community and within the University and Students’ Union,  providing a different way for students to meet new people, explore their community and play a role in tackling local and global social justice issues. Alongside countless volunteering opportunities, students will also be able to find out about University-led activities which count towards the prestigious Stellify Award.

Please encourage students to register on Volunteer Hub in advance so they can apply quickly to opportunities and make the most of this jam-packed schedule.
