Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute will explore what makes up a tumour at the online event starting on 8 July.

A team from the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute is taking part in the Royal Society Summer Science 2021 event, which starts on Thursday 8 July.

Aimed at the general public, their big question - 'What makes up a tumour?' - will be answered through a variety of interactive events and digital content.

Explore how different types of cells make up a tumour and how understanding their interactions affects cancer treatment in a specially-created digital experience. They will be explaining how cutting-edge research is uncovering important interactions between tumour cells and healthy cells of the body in a lightning lecture, showing how to make tumour model out of cardboard and challenging people to break into a tumour in an online escape room.
