New Institute of Teaching and Learning Fellows

We are delighted to announce that 11 colleagues from across the University will begin Fellowships with our Institute of Teaching and Learning (ITL) in September.
ITL Fellowships are open to Academic and Professional Services colleagues, offering the opportunity to work on a project to enhance teaching, learning and the student experience. Fellows work in partnership with our students to bring about positive change, which can then be cascaded across the University.
The quality and diversity of applications this year was extremely high – the response, particularly after such a challenging year, was inspiring. It was very difficult to narrow down the field, thus we are granting double the number of Fellowships than originally planned.
We’re pleased to welcome the new cohort of Fellows and their wide range of exciting projects, which will run from September 2021 to June 2022. We think they will have a great positive impact on teaching, learning and the student experience at Manchester.

This will be our second cohort of Fellows, following the success of our inaugural group in 2020/2021. We’re looking forward to sharing more about how they approached their projects throughout the last academic year on our blog TEA: Teach, Explore, Apply. You can already find posts there from Maria Canal and John Owen on their work around virtual labs and student partnership, and this series will continue in the coming weeks. You can also find information about our inaugural Fellows and their projects on the ITL website, where we will be bringing you additional resources and toolkits developed as part of their work.
