With Christmas 2020 set to be very different this year, connect with colleagues and share what you're doing to celebrate with the new Christmas Yammer group. Throughout December you can find out more about being a Compassionate Colleague at mental health awareness sessions. Visit staff wellbeing news for all the latest wellbeing updates and notifications.

Staff discounts

Payroll Giving

On the 1 December we celebrated Giving Tuesday – the international day to give back.

2020 has been a difficult one for us all and this year’s Giving Tuesday 2020 was about encouraging giving back to the charities who have supported us, our families and our communities throughout the pandemic. With charity shops closed and fundraising events cancelled it is estimated charities will be facing a £10bn funding gap.

This week has also been an opportunity to thank you for your giving. During the past 12 months your donations via our Payroll Giving Scheme have been exceptional with over £141,219.31 being donated to great causes. This is a phenomenal amount, particularly during such difficult times.

The Charities Aid Foundation who support our scheme and nineteen charities who have benefitted from donations, have sent in their messages of thanks to you for the difference you are making. These include personalised videos, letters and certificates from charities such as Wood Street Mission, Shelter, Oxfam, Cancer Research UK, Dogs Trust, Save the Children and many more.

In this special week for giving thanks the Making a Difference annual awards have launched for 2021. The impact of COVID-19 continues to reverberate, yet in the face of this our staff, our students, our alumni and external partners have pulled together and achieved remarkable things. Now is your opportunity to tell us about them…
