Giving Tuesday thanks from Wood Street Mission

01 Dec 2020

On this international day for celebrating all forms of giving - Wood Street Mission has sent a message of thanks and appreciation for all your support and donations

Child at Wood Street Mission

Wood Street Mission is a charity helping children and families living on a low income in Manchester and Salford. They help thousands of children and their families every year, and all their services are free for families to access on referral. On Giving Tuesday they wanted to share their thanks and appreciation:

“The University of Manchester staff have been for many years and continue to be the most fantastic supporters of Wood Street Mission and the children and families we support.

From the huge collections of toys at Christmas, chocolate eggs and now books at Easter, to raising close to £30,000 from the staff Lottery since 2007 and over £2,000 through payroll giving, you have never failed to amaze us with your generosity to help the children of Manchester and Salford.

Thousands of children whose families struggle each day to make ends meet have benefitted from your kindness. With items to help make day to day life a little easier, to brighten up special occasions like Christmas, and to help with their education to improve their life chances for the future.

You have made such a difference and we couldn’t do it without your ongoing support and understanding of our cause.”
