An update on how to contact HR Services

21 Oct 2020

HR Services staff have reverted to working remotely

As the University is now at the Department for Education’s Tier 3 the HR Services Team has reverted to working remotely.

How to contact HR Services

In the first instance, please review the HR StaffNet site as your question/query may be answered there.

If you can’t access the help or advice you need on StaffNet, email your query to hrservices@manchester.ac.uk and a member of HR Services will contact you via email, Zoom or Teams.

Here are a few reminders of things you can do online:

  • Hard copy paperwork for payroll such as overtime forms should continue to be e-mailed to hrservices@manchester.ac.uk
  • ‘Fit notes’ should not be posted to HR Services, but sent to your line manager.  If your manager is working off campus you will need to scan/photograph these and email them to your line manager.
  • Right to work and DBS (criminal records) ID checks continue to be carried out by Zoom or Teams for now, and staff will be contacted when we are in a position to invite them in for an in-person check.

Do you need a staff ID card?

Please only request a staff ID card if there is a need for you to be physically present on campus at this time.

Cards can be requested by emailing hrservices@manchester.ac.uk.

  • If you need a replacement card, for example if you have lost or broken the original, in most cases we will be able to print and post one to you without the need for you to visit HR Services.
  • If you are a new member of staff, we will contact you to make an appointment for you to attend HR Services in the Simon Building on campus.  Please do not visit HR reception without an appointment as reception staff will be on campus by prior arrangement only.
