Martin Harris Centre: Next week's events and future highlights.

Our new brochure has just been issued and is currently being distributed around the University - please make sure you pick one up and check out the full range of diverse and exciting events planned for the coming months. Highlights include:

  • two visits from the BBC Philharmonic Chamber
  • a new batch of Literature Live events, including authors Hanif Kureishi, Clare Wigfall and Helen Dunmore, among many others
  • Quatuor Danel continue their season of free lunchtime concerts
  • The University of Manchester Drama Society present their production of 1984 in March

Next week's events include:

  • a FREE lunchtime concert in the Cosmo Rodewald Concert Hall - Simon Parkin and Hannah Roberts present the first of two concerts to mark the approach of Elliott Carter's one hundredth birthday, combining one of his early masterpieces with the lush romantic sound world of fellow American Sanmuel Barber. The concert starts at 1.10pm on Thursday 31 January.
  • The University of Manchester Sinfonietta present pieces by Strauss, Barber and Beethoven, again in the Cosmo Rodewald Hall on Saturday 2 February at 7pm.
