Find out at Professor Danielle George’s family-friendly event at the Royal Exchange Theatre

Award-winning engineer, Danielle George Professor of Radio Frequency Engineering and Vice Dean for Teaching Learning and Students for the Faculty of Science and Engineering, is bringing her Robot Orchestra to Manchester’s Royal Exchange Theatre for an afternoon of free family entertainment and education on Sunday, 13 October 2019, 2.30–3.15pm.

The event, ‘Could you make a Robot Orchestra’, takes the audience through Danielle’s story of creating her Robot Orchestra, wherein audience members will have the opportunity to join in with the robots—an ensemble of upcycled machines created to entertain and enlighten.

Danielle is passionate about giving the next generation the skills to become scientists and engineers, which led her to create the Robot Orchestra with the help of local schools and organisations, including Siemens.

Danielle was the recipient of the Royal Society Michael Faraday Prize 2018, awarded to scientists and engineers who excel in the communication of science. Danielle presented her prize winning lecture the Royal Society last year.

‘Could you make a Robot Orchestra’ takes places at 2:30pm, Sunday 13 October at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester. You can register for tickets via Eventbrite but seating will be allocated on a first come basis.
