Come along to our Chinese cookery classes

The Confucius Institute is hosting the first of three fun and hands-on cookery classes at Manchester Deaf Institute in Crawford House.

Each class, led by Sam Sin from Koi Kitchen, will have a different focus, allowing you to create a variety of authentic dishes. 

Saturday, 5 October 2019 2-5pm

To celebrate the Chinese Chong Yang Festival, also known as the Double Ninth Festival, we will be learning to cook two popular dishes.

Saturday, 9 November 2019 2–5pm

Learn how to use a rice cooker to prepare both savoury and dessert dishes. This includes ingredients such as chicken and mushrooms as part of the savoury offering and sponge cakes as dessert/

Friday, 6 December 2019 2-5pm

As the Christmas season approaches, we will be learning how to make Hong Kong street food such as Siu Mai (dumplings), curried fish balls and finishing with Bubble Waffles.

The classes are £10 each for University staff and students - book your place.
