InStitches raises over £600 for charity

17 Dec 2018

University knitting group donate funds to Wood Street Mission and Manchester Central Foodbank

Siobhan Shay and her octopus

InStitches, the University knitting and stitching group, held two successful sales this year – raising a whopping £660.

Proceeds from the sales will be shared between Wood Street Mission and Manchester Central Foodbank.

Thanks go to everyone who contributed – members of the group making items for the stall or helping out at the sales, colleagues in Chemistry hosting our second sale of the year and the many people who came along and bought an item or a raffle ticket.

The winner of the raffle was delighted to receive her octopus – Siobhan Shay, Student Engagement Graduate Intern (Peer Support).

If you're interested in joining InStitches, we meet on Wednesday lunchtimes, alternating between north and south campuses.
