Home Office EU Settlement scheme open for staff

03 Dec 2018

Further guidance on the Home Office pilot scheme

If you are a non-UK EU citizen, or a non-EEA relative of an EU citizen, and you work at the University, you are now able to participate in a Home Office pilot scheme to apply for EU settled status, for which the University has elected to provide a refund of the £65 fee. Please see the announcement on StaffNet for more information.

To register to participate in the pilot, you will need to send a blank email from your own email account to eusettlementpilot@homeoffice.gov.uk. The Home Office will be replying to emails on a phased basis and it may take several days to receive your reply. Please only send one email, and make sure you check your inbox and junk mail regularly.  When you do receive a reply, it will contain a link to the online application form, and you will need to complete your application before Saturday, 22 December 2018.

As part of your application you will need to access the Home Office app which functions on specific Android devices only.  We are pleased to confirm that HR Services have two suitable devices available to colleagues who are unable to access the app.  You can arrange an appointment to use one of these devices by emailing HRServices@manchester.ac.uk.

The Home Office is applying a £65 fee for applications which the University has decided to refund in order to help staff take part. You can claim for this refund by completing the PR5, Staff Fees Claim Form and submitting it to HR Services along with your proof of payment.

Information about the scheme has now been added to Staffnet along with the process of claiming the refund.

If you plan to apply, we would advise that you initiate the process as soon as possible given the deadline for submitting an application.
