Bee in the City consultation workshop

13 Apr 2018

Get involved with ideas and suggestions on creating the University Bee

City Bee

This year Bee in the City is presented by Wild in Art with support from Manchester City Council.  From July until Sept 2018, over eighty individually designed, super-sized bee sculptures will form an art trail across the city's streets, parks and public spaces.

The University has commissioned the artist Kate Eggleston-Wirtz to create the University Bee.  As part of her design, Kate would like to invite staff members to contribute their ideas as part of the process.

Whether you have been involved in research or any projects focusing on the winged creature, or maybe you are a staff beekeeper or you just have a passion for bees… then we want to hear from you!

A consultation workshop will take place at The Whitworth on Tuesday, 24 April from 3:30pm until 5pm.  The workshop will be a fun, informal drop-in event, where you will have the opportunity to meet the artist and decorate a mini bee with your ideas and suggestions.  We do hope that you will come and join us and bee involved!
