It’s been an exciting few months for staff Wellbeing at the University.

The Wellbeing website and blog were launched in early November along with a call-up for new Wellbeing Champions. Nearly 100 colleagues responded and attended sessions on Wellbeing before committing to the role.

To date over 40 people have become official Wellbeing Champions.

They will help support staff by cascading wellbeing messages across all areas of the University, use the University’s Wellbeing calendar to raise awareness, develop local events, signpost colleagues on services and provide feedback on improving those services.

Gemma Dale, HR Policy Manager, who leads the Wellbeing Champions Network, said, “We are delighted at the response to our call for new Wellbeing Champions.  The champions will play a vital role in their teams and departments in getting our wellbeing messages and activities cascaded. I’m looking forward to working with them all on the plans for this year.”

Gemma is also leading on the new staff Wellbeing blog, where you can find personal stories and helpful articles to support and encourage your wellbeing journey.

Recent blogs include returning to work from maternity leave, pet bereavement and wellbeing research from the University’s Division of Psychology and Mental Health.
