Upcoming IT maintenance affecting file storage, Software Centre and WakeIT

11 Dec 2017

Between 15 and 19 December, there will be interruptions to some of our services

Workers

We’re performing some essential maintenance from Friday 15 December to Tuesday 19 December, and some IT services will be unavailable while this is taking place. Please ensure you plan your work accordingly.

Software Centre, WakeIT and the delivery of new computers

The Software Centre and WakeIT will be unavailable at the following times:

  • Friday 15 December, 8am to 6pm
  • Monday 18 December, 8am to 6pm
  • Tuesday 19 December, 8am to 1pm

During these times, it will not be possible for you to install software on a University managed computer, or use the WakeIT service.

This will also prevent IT staff from re-installing Windows and may therefore cause a slight delay in the delivery of new computers.

File storage (P: drives and some shared network storage)

Personal file storage (P: drives), some shared network drives and the Electronic Software Delivery Service will be unavailable for approximately 30 minutes at some point between 8am and 12 noon on Saturday 16 December.

Due to the nature of the work, it’s not possible to state exactly when this will happen, so please bear in mind the whole 4-hour period of time when planning your work.

This affects all staff and students.
