Before concertos became all about the virtuosity of the soloist, they were written for small teams of instrumentalists, contrasted against the full orchestra. Here the university’s period-instrument ensemble explores this most collaborative of forms, placing Handel’s famous masterpieces alongside hidden gems from Italy and England, including a rarely heard Yuletide treat.
Come and enjoy a lunchtime concert performed by the Manchester University Music Society. These concerts are free, no need to book just turn up.
