New magistrates recruitment

22 May 2017

Greater Manchester courts need 75 new magistrates

Do you want to become a magistrate, or know anyone else who would?

Greater Manchester courts need to recruit 75 new magistrates to hear cases in their courts in their community.

Each case is usually heard by three magistrates, including a magistrate who is trained to act as a chairperson, and a legal adviser in the court gives advice on the law and makes sure the magistrates follow the right procedures.

Recuitment is now open and will be closed when the target for applications has been met (220 applications).

All interviews will be held in Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court from June onwards.
