Bumper purple wave entry for Great Manchester Run

More than 2,400 runners will be joining the #purplewave on Sunday 28 May

The final figures are in and SPORT Manchester are pleased to announce that 1,888 students, 459 staff members and 89 alumni have signed up to the Great Manchester Run.  That's 2,436 taking part in our #purplewave! 

If you're not running but would like to support any of our runners who are raising money for charities, you can find some of them on the #purplewave JustGiving page.

SPORT Manchester has chosen to support Equity and Merit scholarships.  These are awarded to exceptional students from some of the world’s poorest countries, enabling them to access and undertake master’s degrees that will help them contribute to the development of their home nation. 

We hope you will be able to support them in whatever way you can - and don't forget, as one of Manchester's biggest sporting events, you can give our runners moral support on the day along the course route.
