Beat the Bogle – and raise charity cash

Bogle Stroll

The Bogle Stroll is back – and you can join in a famed University tradition that raises thousands of pounds for charity.

It began in 1961 when a group of lecturers missed their last train from Lancaster so decided to walk the 55 miles back to Manchester instead. Legend has it that they began to hallucinate and see the mysterious Bogle creature.

Every year since then, staff and student walkers take on a 55-mile journey around Greater Manchester to try and 'Beat the Bogle' and together raise thousands of pounds for charity.

2017's Bogle takes place this Friday (10 March) at 7pm and participants have 24 hours to complete the route.

Our charity partner is Manchester Action on Street Health (MASH) but walkers can also choose a charity of their choice if they wish.

There is a £20 entry fee with £10 of that returned once minimum fundraising target of £75 is made.

Entry still open but be quick - the event is nearly here!
