International Women's Day

21 Feb 2017

Book now to join our International Women's Day panel discussion

Staff and students can book free tickets now for the Division of Development and Alumni Relations' annual panel discussion and reception in celebration of International Women's Day.

This year the discussion will honour the outstanding achievements of women who have studied and worked at Manchester in the area of health and will take place in the Whitworth Hall on campus in Manchester on the evening of Wednesday, 8 March 2017.

We are delighted that Dr Pat Troop, former Chief Executive of the Health Protection Agency, and Dr Sheena Cruickshank, PhD, FRSA, Academic Lead for Public Engagement with Research and Senior Lecturer in Immunology, will be joining our panel. We will also welcome Anya Golder, PhD student and Irshad Akhtar Memorial Scholarship recipient at the Manchester Cancer Research Centre.

Leading the discussions will be Dr Dawn Edge[http://www.manchester.ac.uk/research/mhs/Dawn.Edge/], Senior Lecturer in the Institute of Brain, Behaviour and Mental Health at The University of Manchester and the University Lead for Equality, Diversity & Inclusion.

The event will be hosted by our President and Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dame Nancy Rothwell, with an audience made up of alumni, staff, students and friends of the University.

We hope you can join us - last year's event sold out and we expect to draw yet more attendees this year, keen to learn about the inspiring work of our female alumni, students and faculty.
