Closure of Higher Cambridge Street

20 Jul 2016

Higher Cambridge Street is to close to traffic for a period of up to three weeks at its junction with Booth Street West

The closure – beginning on Monday, 25 July will extend around 50 metres from the junction - has been arranged by United Utilities in relation to essential works on the hotel development.

The timing of the closure has been stipulated by Manchester City Council to coincide with the school holiday period when there is less traffic, and a reduced level of risk as deep excavations are involved as part of the work.

Car Park D (Booth St West) - which is now accessed by Higher Cambridge Street - can still be reached as usual from Lloyd Street North.  Drivers coming from other directions should go via Booth Street West, Boundary Lane and Burlington Street.

Temporary signage will be in place to advise drivers.  Pedestrian routes into the campus are not affected.
