WATCH: Animation16 winners on YouTube!

19 Jul 2016

The Animation16 awards ceremony took place earlier this week at the National Media Museum in Bradford

The annual UK Schools Computer Animation Competition, run by the School of Computer Science, is all about enthusing schoolchildren about Computer Science, and to use computers creatively.

Students aged 7-19 at UK schools and colleges can enter for free, by creating an original key-frame computer animation, up to one minute in length, using eligible software, which includes: Alice, Flash, Scratch, Blender, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Maya, and Serif DrawPlus. Entries can be from individuals or from small teams.

Prizes (laptops, iPads, iPods, games consoles, vouchers) are awarded by age category (KS2, KS3, KS4 and KS5) at the summer Animation Festival and Inspirational Computer Science Day, which is held at the University.
