Celebrating Manchester’s role as European City of Science 2016

The University of Manchester at ESOF 2016

Manchester is the European City of Science 2016 – and our University is playing a big part in the celebrations.

We are a major partner in the EuroScience Open Forum (ESOF) from Friday, 23 to Wednesday, 27 July.

ESOF is Europe's greatest scientific gathering, not only bringing together the world’s science community but also reaching out to an enthralled and inspired public.

It brings together over 4,500 leading thinkers, innovators, policy makers, journalists and educators from more than 90 countries, to discuss current and future breakthroughs in contemporary science.

There will be stimulating content and lively debate around the latest advancements and discoveries in the sciences, humanities and social sciences.

And for the public, there’s a science festival from 22 to 29 July, Science in the City.

Our academics and colleagues will be taking part in a range of events celebrating ‘science as revolution’.

Where better to celebrate this than Manchester?
