The Brain Box - a major science extravaganza

13 Jun 2016

On Manchester Day (19 June, the very day of the famous annual parade) a major science extravangaza called The Brain Box will take place in the Town Hall

The Brain Box will be a unique event involving scientists, clinicians, creative practitioners and artists, full of exciting, fun and thought-provoking exhibits, displays and hands-on activities for all ages to explore how the brain works, how it is studied, what can go wrong in our brains, and how this might be fixed.

The initiators and main organisers of The Brain Box are Andreas Prokop and Stuart Allan from our Faculty, and it is a collaboration between Manchester City Council, The University of Manchester, Salford University, Manchester Metropolitan University, Museum of Science and Industry, Stroke Association, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Parkinson’s UK, MND Association, National Autistic Society, Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust, The University of Liverpool, The Walton Centre NHS Foundation Trust, University of York, three companies, two dance troops, a choir and a number of artists.

Come and rummage around in The Brain Box on 19 June, when the doors of the Town Hall will be open to you from 10am to 6pm.
