The School of Law Legal Advice Centre

02 Jun 2016

Free legal advice this summer

For the past six years the Legal Advice Centre (LAC) has created an opportunity for a select group of students to practise their legal skills during the summer break as part of a wider programme of employability and social responsibility.

The week commencing 27 June 2016 has been set aside for appointments to be scheduled on most days and times ranging from 10am - 4pm. These will take place at one of the three centres overseen by the LAC:

  1. Campus LAC (Crawford House);
  2. Manchester Free Legal Help (MFLH) at the Civil Justice Centre (city centre); or
  3. The East Manchester LAC (EMLAC) in Openshaw.

If you or someone you know has a legal query on any topic, please feel free to get in touch by:

If you decide to email, please also include your telephone number.  Key initial information such as a brief outline and when the problem/situation first arose, whether or not there is a specific deadline and, if applicable, the name of any organisation that may be party to the dispute would be helpful.

We will respond as soon as possible to any calls or emails in order to gather necessary further information and to process your request.   The Centre Solicitor assesses all enquiries to ensure they are within our remit.  We are unable to provide advice on any matter concerning the University, its services or employees and in general we do not advise in cases of ongoing litigation.
