Upgrade to My Manchester for Students

On Tuesday 3 May, students will start to use a new and improved My Manchester, and benefit from a number of new features, including:

  • A ‘Google-like’ smart search making it easier and quicker to find content and services
  • A resource bank for students to find personal development resources
  • Self-reflection tools to support students to develop their learning, wellbeing and career development skills and experience
  • A responsive design that works on desktop and mobile devices
  • Intuitive navigation making it easier to find content and services
  • A new ‘look and feel’ consistent with University branding

IT Services have been working alongside the Directorate for the Student Experience and a large group of student users to ensure the system is ready for release on Tuesday 3rd May.

This upgrade complements the thematic microsites launched in October 2015 providing clear information and access to services for students.

  • Exams : Information, support and advice about the most important assessments in a taught student's academic career.
  • Explore : Helping students find their way around campus, and make the most of the city of Manchester.
  • Get involved : Activities and facilities students have access to that will help them make the most of their time in Manchester.
  • Go abroad : Details of the life-changing opportunities for students to study, work, volunteer or spend a summer abroad.
  • Graduation : Information about what to do before and on the day, as well as accessing transcripts after graduation.
  • Peer Support : Students support each other in all sorts of ways at Manchester, including Peer Mentoring and PASS.
  • Regulations and policies : Simple to understand introductions to every student- and PGR-related regulation and policy.
  • Student support : Academic, health, financial and immigration advice and guidance, including where to get help on campus.
  • Volunteers : Completely redeveloped student volunteering microsite, including a new campus-wide volunteering portal.
  • Your Say for Your Uni : Showing students how their voice and contribution makes a real difference to their experience of their University.

For the first time, after 3rd May all staff will be able to access My Manchester for Students by logging in to their staff view of my.manchester.ac.uk, and clicking the “My Manchester for students” link at the bottom of the page so they can see the information and services students can access.

A number of tutorial videos and documents will be soon be forthcoming for anyone who needs more advice.
