Levenshulme Market this lunch time

19 Apr 2016

Why not enjoy some of the fresh food and treats on offer?

Food sellers at the market

Levenshulme Market CIC will be running  Tuesday food and drink markets at the University from 11.30am-2.30pm

Located, right next to Oxford Road and Manchester Museum, means that the markets are likely to be a popular lunchtime choice for students, staff and visitors to the University.

Market dates

The food markets will run every Tuesday from 12 April until 7 June, with two additional markets on 12 July and 19 July during graduation – ideal for students and their families as they celebrate their achievements. As well as providing visitors and users of the UoM campus with a tempting range of street food options, it is also hoped that as the market runs through the exam period, it can help students take a welcome foodie break from their stressful schedules.

The market will take place every Tuesday in term-time between 11.30am and 2.30pm on Bridgeford Street, M15 6FH, right next to the Manchester Museum.

Street food, fresh produce and drinks

The Tuesday food markets at UoM promise a veritable feast of local street food and produce. The traders, many of whom are already a hit at the community-run Levenshulme Market, include:

  • Fritto Italian Street Food – a fellow social enterprise serving panzerotti and arancini
  • Wallace & Sons – serving Gyoza, Bao and kimchi
  • Fat Annie’s Hot Dogs – a selection of specialist sausages with unique toppings
  • Olo Kitchen – serving Polish specialties including pierogi dumplings
  • What’s Your Beef – renowned in the North West for their epic gourmet burgers
  • Ginger’s Comfort Emporium – luxury ice cream in a range of unique flavours, including the salted caramel speciality ‘Chorlton Crack’
  • Lush Brownies – a sell-out sensation at the pilot market and at Levy Market with up to 20 flavours of gooey chocolate brownies

The market also offers the chance to buy staples such as freshly baked bread, loose leaf tea, ground coffee and fresh meat.
