Update your wardrobe at the Rutherford Swish

04 Apr 2016

Thursday, 14 April (12.30–1.30pm) will see the seasonal Rutherford ‘Swish’ (clothes swap) in the Rutherford Room, Rutherford Building

Rutherford Swish

Updating your autumn/winter wardrobe or clearing out your spring/summer threads? Don’t throw them away - save them for next week and “swish” them for other pre-loved items!

How does it work?

You bring along any good quality items of clothing which you no longer wear/use (handbags, shoes, tops and dresses etc) and pay £2 admission (or come along without items to swap and pay £3) and then help yourself to any items brought in by colleagues that take your fancy! The proceeds will be shared between Wood Street Mission and Cornerstone Homeless Charity.

Any leftover items of clothing will be donated to Wood Street Mission/Cornerstone and will be put to good use by local families. We have now raised over £500 though these events for local charities and also donated 50 bags of good quality, used clothing to the charities – something to be proud of!

Donating direct to the charities

Please also feel free to bring in items to be donated straight to charity: they are always in need of good quality children's and young adult clothing, baby equipment, bedding and toiletries. Cornerstone in particular is in crisis at the moment and urgently needs donations of food, clothes and bedding. If you would like to help them in advance of the SWISH, you can find their contact details at:

Volunteering

If anyone would like to volunteer to help set up/set down or take the donations to Cornerstone/Wood Street, extra pairs of hands are most appreciated! Please contact:
