Special training event as part of International Women's Day

02 Mar 2016

Routes to becoming a Registered Science Technician

The Equality and Diversity Team have organised a series of workshops for International Women’s Day (IWD).

As part of this, Senior Research Technician Sandra Taylor will talk about the IST Registered Science Technicians Award and offer support to staff interested in applying.

This will take place on Tuesday, 8 March, 3-4pm, and is open to all science technical staff, with women being particularly encouraged to attend.

It can be tempting to push your career development to one side when focussing on the day-to-day demands of the job, but this one-hour session is a great way to invest in your personal and professional development.

Sandra will discuss the award, which was developed by The Science Council to recognise high standards of professionalism at all levels for anyone working in Science. There are many benefits to applying for professional recognition for the work that you do – it is a recognisable way of demonstrating your professional capabilities and standards, commitment to professional ethics, conduct and continuing professional development and may improve your employability.
