Cyber Security: what it means to me

25 Nov 2015

Book now for HEI Seminar on Thursday, 17 December

In an age where digital information is at the core of almost all University activities, the Cyber Security Programme is working to deliver the information security governance framework, processes and tools to improve our detection of cyber threats and the way in which we respond, both as an organisation and as individuals.

What is the Cyber Security Programme and why has it been implemented?  What are the implications of the programme?

Additionally, to protect ourselves, we need to understand what we are trying to defend. These are our sensitive digital assets and require us to undertake Data Categorisation. This means categorising these assets into one of three categories; each category has different controls protecting them.

The event – featuring speaker Steven Wood – will be held on Thursday, 17 December, 12.30 – 1.30pm, at the Kanaris Theatre, Manchester Museum.
