Running to raise money for Alzheimer's Society

07 Aug 2015

Helena Edwardson from IT Services is running the Wigan 10K again!

Helena Edwardson

This year, there will be 850,000 people in the UK with dementia and 40,000 of them will be younger people. By 2025, there will be an estimated 1 million people living with dementia.

This year, Helena Edwardson attended training and became a Dementia Friend and on 6 September she'll be taking on the Wigan 10K for the second time to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society.

Dementia, although seen as an 'old person's' disease, does not discriminate and we will all be touched by it in some way, whether through family, friends or ourselves.

Any small change you can spare to help spur Helena on would be very much appreciated as she pounds the streets training - more often than not in the rain!
