public involvement group

GM AHSN are really keen to get as diverse a group together as possible. They are looking for enthusiastic flexible members of the public to join the GM AHSN Public Involvement and Engagement group.

If you feel you are able to challenge and act as a critical friend to the GM AHSN, they would like you to apply.

Am I eligible to apply?

GM AHSN are looking for members of the public who live in Greater Manchester, East Lancashire or East Cheshire and are able to work flexibly to meet the requirements of meetings. Meetings will be held at a central location in Greater Manchester.

If you have a professional role in health or social care services, please be aware that you are not eligible to apply for these new roles.

Why are health and social care professionals excluded?

Everyone is a member of the public in the sense of being a past, current or future patient, service user and carer. However, in their public involvement and engagement work GM AHSN have made a decision to encourage and support the involvement of individuals whose knowledge and experience is not already reflected in their work (National Institute for Health Research; 2012).
