Dad and University colleagues cycle Manchester to Paris for Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital

Joel Turner and team

Dr Joel Turner, Prof Tim Abram and PhD student James Buckley from the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering (MACE) are cycling from Paris to Manchester (468 miles) in six days, to raise money for the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.

Joel said:  “I spent about a month living in the hospital in 2013 because my son was born with a large tumour on his spine.

“The hospital was fantastic, from Harry’s initial stay in Neonatal Intensive Care through to his recovery on the High Dependency Unit. Now Harry is doing much better I decided I’d like to do something to repay the kindness.

“Any money raised will go directly to the hospital as we are paying all trip expenses ourselves.”
