Faculty of Life Sciences take action on Staff Survey issues

02 Mar 2015

The Faculty took the responses to the Staff Survey very seriously and put in place an action plan to address the issues that were identified

Your voice, Our Manchester

The Faculty structure has been revised and a level of academic management has been removed, changes have been made to the role of the Section Head, which has included making them the line managers of all the staff in their sections (previously this was shared with Research Group Leaders).  The communication and pastoral aspects of the role have also been re-emphasised.

Following the success of the Faculty development programme that was launched last year, further training courses for 2015 are now available via the training catalogue.

A new promotion procedure for research staff has been implemented in response to the mixed feedback with regards to reward and recognition, managers have also been reminded of the different mechanisms for reward that already exist within FLS.

All PSS staff have been made aware of the Behaviours campaign and this project is being developed further and will be rolled out to academic and research staff in the future.
