In memory of the Knutsford Lads

15 Oct 2014

Talk by local historian in the Gallery at Tabley House, Knutsford, on Tuesday, 21 October (2pm)

The Knutsford Lads book cover

As Remembrance Sunday approaches and with many thoughts turning this year to the beginning of WW1, the Friends of Tabley have asked local historian Tony Davies to talk about the Knutsford Lads who braved the trenches and other fronts during this “war to end all wars”.

With an average age of 23, over 270 Knutsford men set off on a great adventure. Their country needed them and they answered the call. Many fought bravely and many fell. Tony Davies will talk about the men and families behind the names listed on the town’s war memorials.

The talk takes place in the Gallery at Tabley House at 2 pm on Tuesday, 21 October. Tony will also have copies of his new book The Knutsford Lads for sale and will be happy to sign copies purchased on the day.

The talk costs £12.00 and will be followed by tea and cake.
