Helen Maclean: funeral arrangements

17 Jan 2014

Helen Maclean, who was for many years a lecturer in the English Department, died in December 2013 and her funeral will be held in Durham on 23 January.

A memorial event will take place in Manchester some time after the funeral. Anyone who would like to know the details of the Manchester event should contact:

Helen's funeral will be held in Durham at the South Road Woodland Burial Ground on Thursday, 23 January 2014 at 2pm.

A funeral cortege will be leaving the Eighton Banks area of Gateshead, Helen's birthplace. Everyone is welcome to join the cortege (time and place to be confirmed) or meet at the cemetery.

There will be a reception afterwards in the Eighton Banks area (venue to be confirmed) at which you are all welcome whether you attend the funeral or not. We would be pleased if you would let us know if you will be attending so we have an idea of numbers for the reception.
