Take your research to Parliament!

Applications are invited from early-stage and early-career research scientists, engineers, technologists and mathematicians who wish to exhibit at the SET for BRITAIN poster competition.

SET for BRITAIN Awards are made on the basis of the very best research work and results by an early-stage or early-career researcher together with their ability to communicate their work to a lay audience. 

The overall aim of SET for BRITAIN is to encourage, support and promote Britain's early-stage and early-career research scientists, engineers, technologists and mathematicians who are the "engine-room" of continued progress in and development of UK research and R&D, and ultimately of UK plc. Many will be Britain's future scientific and technological leaders and others will clearly be leaders in other fields. 

The competition is divided into five subject areas:

  • Biological and Biomedical Science
  • Chemistry
  • Engineering
  • Mathematics
  • Physics

Prizes up to value of £3,000 per subject area.

How to apply

 

Applications close on 20 December 2013 at 5pm.  

You will need to submit the following electronically:

  1. the online application
  2. an abstract of the poster in PDF
  3. a letter of reference from a senior colleague in PDF. ().
