Do you know a student who needs assistance to cover essential maintenance costs?

16 Oct 2013

Submissions are invited to the Access to Learning Fund to cover shortfalls in student income for essential maintenance costs for the entire 2013/14 academic year.

Each year, the University receives government funds to assist UK/Home students experiencing financial hardship.

Awards range from £100 to £3000 and are designed to cover any shortfall in income for essential maintenance costs for an entire academic year. In 2012/13, we made awards to over 200 students.

The Access to Learning Fund particularly aims to help:

  • Students from a low income family
  • Students with children/dependants - particularly lone parents
  • Students with a disability
  • Students experiencing financial hardship due to unexpected or difficult personal circumstances

It is important to note that the fund cannot be awarded for the purpose of paying tuition fees.

If you would like to find out more, or know a student who would benefit from this fund, all information regarding eligibility and the application process can be found on the Crucial Guide at:
