Taking the stress out of buying new IT equipment

10 Oct 2013

Staff and students will now be able to buy laptops and desktop PCs through the eMarketplace.

Working closely with all faculties and PSS, IT Services have secured a deal for University approved PC desktops and laptops. These will be available at a significant discount (between 15% and 30%) over existing contract arrangements.

A range of three standard laptops, one Ultrabook and two desktop PCs are available directly from the eMarketplace. These computers are in full support of the Windows 7 managed desktop – the laptop image will be available in the first quarter 2014.

With changes in Public Procurement Rules, the approach to ‘pick and mix’ suppliers from the NDNA (National Desktop and Notebook Agreement) Framework is no longer available. These contracts meet new legal requirements.
