Can you capture your research in just one photo?

23 Jul 2013

Images of Research Photography Competition 2013 launches

Can you creatively communicate your research to the general public with just one photographic image, a snappy title and an accompanying short description? If so, then you should take part in the Images of Research Photography Competition.

Entries are welcomed from all parts of the University – whatever your subject or specialism.

This year’s theme is ‘The Big Picture’ and you are being challenged to pull back from the intimate and intricate details of your research and share the wonder, beauty and curiosity of what you do, why you do it, and how it matters to others. Can you show how your research impacts the wider world and how it makes a difference?

There are several prizes on offer including £200 of Amazon vouchers for the winner of the public vote, plus a first prize and runners up as selected by the judging panel.

In addition to your original photographic image, each submission must include an interesting title and a 150-word abstract describing how and why your research matters to others.

Submissions close on 23 September 2013, at 12 noon, so get snapping!

Visit the Images of Research website for full terms and conditions, inspiration and online submissions:
